The Word on the Street, Sunday, 25 September 2011 at about 11:15.
I'm reading a suite of poems from Embouchure. The reading took place in the "Poetry Tent" set up on Hamilton Street in Vancouver. (The tent either blew over or had to be taken down a little after noon: too much wind and rain. The rest of the poetry readings took place on the Poetry in Transit bus, parked beside the library.) This was recorded with my Sony voice recorder, and the conditions aren't ideal. A generator is rumbling in the background, and the wind is making the sides of the tent flap. I also drop a sheet -- or maybe it gets blown away -- so I'm unable to finish "Freddie," which is a bit sad. George Elliott Clarke said at one of his readings that you ought to have your poems memorized. Or else, in my case, I should have improvised something.

Ear Trumpet, a talk on poetics given at the Vancouver 125 Poetry Conference on 19 October 2011. It contains readings of two poems: "Embouchure" and "The Clash Takes Kerrisdale." The text of the talk can be found on my Frank Styles blog, here.

Don't Get Cootie Mad, with Taylor Ho Bynum, Thursday, 21 October 2011 around about 9:00pm, at the Vancouver 125 Poetry Conference Cabaret at the Revue Stage on Granville Island, part of the Vancouver International Writers Festival.
This is a suite from Embouchure ("Bubber," "Cootie," and "Rex"), performed in collaboration with the fantastic Taylor Ho Bynum improvising on cornet. The introduction is by Daniel Zomparelli.
